All Bark and All Bite
When a shark stops swimming it drowns. This is my mantra. At 5’0, I do not intimidate most people, but first impressions aren’t always accurate.
My inner-self is closely identified as a shark, not the type in Finding Nemo, because not all fish are friends. My personality is equivalent to a shark that is hungry for challenges, and competitive with others demonstrated by my athletic side. All sharks have different personalities, so let me be specific.
The largest predatory shark, the Megalodon, although extinct-reminds me of the incomparable nature of sharks. An apex, or carnivore, the shark is at the top of the food chain: known to have preyed on dolphins, and even even killer whales, I would consider this the marine’s exhibition of social darwinism. “Fit for the ocean”, a Megalodon could be argued to be the most powerful creature on the planet, ironically extinct due to inadequate resources, and minimal reproduction of the species.
Today, the most dangerous shark in the ocean is the Great White shark. The Great White is known to have descended from the Megalodon. I may be seen as an attacker, but my drive for results keeps me afloat and alive.
The Great White is notorious for its size, and interestingly enough, female individuals grow to be larger than males. This is no coincidence when I compare myself to this species. Shedding over 100 teeth per day, a shark begins hunting for food on its own from birth: fearlessly independent. Just like a Great White, I don’t see myself having many natural predators. Of course I am referring to obstacles in my way, using my tact and resilience to remove barriers instead of 5 rows of teeth to attack seals.
With my small size, my personality makes up for my smaller presence. Proving that the Great White and I share personality traits, don’t just take my word. Just like humans, sharks have different personalities,. Call it confirmation bias, but I discovered a quiz (on National Geographic) that proves, I am not all bark, and no bite:
Here are my personality quiz results:
“Like a great white shark, you're fearlessly independent. You know what you want and are focused on how to get it, just like a great white sees a seal above it and zooms toward its prey. At first some people might be alarmed by your driven attitude, but once they get to know you they realize what a jaw-some friend you are.”
